Thank God for the rain! It started bucketing down last night, and still hasn't stopped. We certainly need it, that's for sure. It's interesting though, how the culture I live in has evolved over time, since the drought started. When I was growing up, it was quite normal to go play in the backyard with the hose, and not think about all the water we were using. But when I was at a friend's place recently, her grandson was having a go at someone on tv who was "wasting water unnecessarily". A sign of the times, I guess. I still find the 4 minute shower limit a bit hard though, but that's probably because it takes my hot water system a full 10 minutes of running the water in the shower before it gets hot enough (or luke warm enough, anyway) to actually have a shower with. So mostly I shower at my boyfriend's, where he has pretty much instant gas hot water, and I just wash my hair in the kitchen sink at home, and do a basic wash over. It's getting too cold now to stand shivering and naked, waiting for the hot water to get to its full strength of luke warm.
But the rain is certainly welcome, even if I all I have is shoes that have holes in the soles, which let the water in! :-)
I bought a house finally. The change over happens at the end of June. I still haven't finished packing yet though. Got a stack to do, and now I am really feeling the pressure to get it all done. My sister dumped a bunch of moving boxes over at my place on the weekend, to help me out a bit, as she moved earlier this year to her new house, and doesn't plan on moving again any time soon. It's been a godsend, that's for sure. The boxes still feel really heavy, when they are packed, but at least they are packed. I am still managing to fill boxes with books though, so I don't know where they are all going to go when I move, as the house I bought doesn't come with its own library, and it's not a house that's two-stories. Maybe I'll just have to put bookshelves in every single room of the house. I was just so looking forward to actually having a library. Oh well. I'm sure something can be arranged.
I am about to start on one of the busiest periods of my life, as not only am I moving, but I'm also going back to university (as an external student, granted, but I still have to do the work), plus add to that, I have pets and a boyfriend.....oh boy!
My boyfriend and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 the other day, and it seems that he is a bit jealous of Orlando Bloom! I will admit to thinking Orlando is just so incredibly hot, yes, but my boyfriend has nothing to fear. As I keep saying to him, if Orlando was to walk in the door right this minute, I'd still choose my boyfriend. Granted, Orlando is sexy as shit, but he's just not my guy, though they do look similar. Same body build, same curls, same beautiful face. But Orlando has brown eyes, and I've never been keen on brown-eyed men. My beloved has blue eyes, and that suits me right down to the ground.
Anyway, I'd best be off and out into the rain. I need coffee, panadol, and food - none of which I have in my house at the moment!
